Reviews & Maps / How much does review management cost?
How much does review management cost for contractors?
Short answer
Doing it yourself is free but takes time every day. Review software usually runs about $75 to $400+ a month, and you still do the work. Done-for-you services often start around $100 to $300 a month. Ours is $97 for reviews, $297 with Google profile work, and $497 with missed-call text-back and a free website.
Option 1: Do it yourself ($0)
Copy your review link, text every customer after the job, send one reminder and reply to every review. It works, if someone does it every single day. Most shops start strong and stop when it gets busy. Start with our review request templates.
Option 2: Review software (about $75 to $400+ a month)
Software sends the texts and collects the reviews in one inbox. You still connect it, write the messages, reply to reviews and keep the customer list current. Prices vary a lot by brand, number of locations and add-ons like webchat or payments.
Option 3: Done for you (often $100 to $300+ a month)
A service sets everything up, connects your job software, runs the past-customer campaign, replies to reviews and sends you a monthly report. You do nothing after setup. Good ones also work on your Google profile, because reviews alone don’t move your map ranking.
Hidden costs to ask about
- Setup fees: often $300 to $1,000. Ours is $0.
- Contracts: 12-month terms are common. Ours is month to month.
- Text message fees: most providers pass these on. Ours are billed at cost.
- Per-location pricing: a second office can double the bill.
- Add-ons: review replies, reporting or a review widget sold separately.
Is it worth it?
Do the math with one job. If your average job is $5,000 and better reviews win you one extra job a month, even a $497 plan pays for itself ten times over. If your average job is $300, stick to the basics.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Do you ask every customer, or only the happy ones? (Filtering breaks Google’s rules.)
- Is there a guarantee, and what are its conditions?
- Who replies to reviews, and how fast?
- Can I cancel anytime, and do I keep my reviews and data?
- Do you promise a ranking? (Walk away if they do.)
